2025 Programs: frequently asked questions

Some things are new and some things stay the same! This year will definitely be a little different and our amazing programming team has worked incredibly hard to provide healthy and fun activities for all of us - thanks to Candace Markovich, Meg Proctor and Sara Hodges!

Please remember that in order for you or your family members to participate in any ASLC program or Fitness class, a membership is required.

WHAT’S NEW

We have some new, and returning programs this summer. We are excited to offer our members opportunities to develop their swimming, paddling, fitness, and arts and craft skills, as well as offer full-day programming options - ideal for parents who are working remotely from the lake this Summer!

cancellation policy

This year we are introducing a new cancellation policy to help us plan our staffing appropriately and be fair to everyone who registers for programs. Starting this year, if you have to cancel registration for a kids program you will be charged as follows:

10% fee if cancelling before June 1st, 2025
50% fee if cancelling after June 1st, 2025 (if we can fill your spot)
100% fee if cancelling after June 1st and we cannot fill your spot

For all other programs the cancellation policy will be full refund if cancelled 7 days prior to start date less convenience fee.

additional faq

1. Does my child need a membership to sign up for camp or other ASLC programs?

Yes, both you and your child must be members of both SLYC and ASLC for your child to participate. If your child would like to try the camp for one week only, they can do so by paying a guest fee in addition to the camp fee.

2. How do I register my child for the full-day camp option?

Once you have purchased a membership or paid the guest fee, log in to CourtReserve and book your program(s).  Full day camps are a joint offering between the ASLC and SLYC so campers must be members of both associations. More info on purchasing an SLYC membership can be found here.

3. What is the schedule for the full day camp?

Morning (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM): Activities include paddling, swimming, and arts & crafts. Children will be grouped by age and skill level.

Lunch (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM): Bring your own lunch or order from the store.

Afternoon (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Racquets activities including tennis, pickleball, badminton and ping pong.

4. What will the kids learn?

Campers will develop skills in paddling, swimming, arts & crafts, tennis, pickleball, badminton, and ping-pong. Each week will feature a unique theme with a progressive learning curriculum.

5. What happens if my child is waitlisted?

If a camper withdraws, your child may have the opportunity to join. You will be informed as early as the Friday before camp starts or as late as Sunday evening. If your child is no longer available, the next child on the waitlist will be contacted.

6. When does registration open?

Registration opens on April 27th at 10:00 AM (to be confirmed).

7. What are the costs of camp options in 2025?

The full day camp fee is $650 per week.

8. What weeks are available?

The camp runs for 7 weeks, starting the week of June 30th, excluding the week of July 14-18th. During the week of July 14-18, there will be two afternoon camps to choose from. Environment Camp will be run by the ASLC from 1-4pm, and Racquet Camp will be run by the SLYC from 1-4pm. To create a full-day option, sign your child up for 1/2 day Camp Juniper + stay for lunch in the morning, followed by either Environment Camp OR Racquet Camp in the afternoon.
Note: Racquet Camp sign-up for this week will be available through the SLYC site only.
